Dr. Blake Jelley is a professor of management in the University of Prince Edward Island’s McDougall Faculty of Business. Dr. Jelley also serves as a Board Director of CPHR (Chartered Professionals in Human Resources) PEI. He holds a PhD in industrial-organizational psychology from Western University and the CPHR designation, having earned the top score in Canada on the October 2012 National Knowledge Exam in human resource management. Dr. Jelley is a Fellow of the Center for Evidence-Based Management, a former Chair of the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (CSIOP), and recipient of the Joan Finegan Award for Outstanding Contributions to CSIOP. He previously served on the Board of CPHR Canada and the PEI Employment Standards Board, most recently as ESB Vice Chair. His professional practice experience includes five years in applied research and consulting at the Ontario Police College where he completed training design, test development, and human resource management projects.
Dr. Jelley’s scholarly work includes 140-plus publications and presentations, more than 20 of which appear in peer-reviewed journals. His work has appeared in prestigious outlets in applied psychology and management such as the Academy of Management Learning & Education, Human Resource Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Personnel Psychology. His interests include evidence-based management; management education; and the appraisal, prediction, and improvement of human performance.
