Background:
Dr. Constance Ida MacFarlane established several awards during her lifetime. The H. Havelock MacFarlane Memorial Award, and the Dr. Constance Ida MacFarlane Fund which supports the Dr. Constance Ida MacFarlane Scholarship and the Dr. Constance Ida MacFarlane Prize. On July 17, 2000, UPEI received a bequest of $3,000 from the Estate of Dr. MacFarlane, which formed the account creating the Henry Havelock MacFarlane Ecology Award. This gift was in addition to previous gifts to UPEI that endowed other awards.
