Granted annually to two returning students in good academic standing, one who is a member of the Panther Women's Basketball Team and the other who is a member of the Panther Men's Basketball Team. Recipients will have completed their full secondary education in Prince Edward Island. If there are equally qualifying candidates, financial need will be a defining criterion.

Background:
This award, established in 1990, is in memory of Urban McInnis. Urban was a fixture on the St. Dunstan's University campus, being a beloved friend of faculty and students at SDU as well as a friend of the Sisters of St. Martha. He was a regular at nearly all athletic games and served as the unofficial mascot. He was a kind, fun-loving, and gentle soul. Upon his passing in 1989, he left a gift to the Sisters of St. Martha who, in turn, used it to establish these endowed awards.
