Andrew Renewable Scholarship in Engineering
Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering
Criteria:
Awarded to a deserving student who has graduated from a PEI high school and is entering first year of the four year Sustainable Design Engineering program at UPEI. The recipient will receive the scholarship for each year of the four year UPEI program provided he or she maintains an overall average of 80% in each year.

Background:
These annual scholarships are established at the University of Prince Edward Island by Bill Andrew and his wife, Denise. Bill Andrew received his Diploma in Engineering from UPEI in 1973 and became Chancellor of the University of Prince Edward Island in 2004. Bill Andrew is currently President of Penn West Petroleum Ltd. and is active in various community and philanthropic endeavours. He is a founding member of the Friends of UPEI group in Calgary, has a farm on PEI, and is active in PEI and national harness racing circles.
