Background:
This scholarship is established at the University of Prince Edward Island in memory of Audrey J. Tinney by the Tinney Family (her sons, Bill Tinney, UPEI Class of 1982 and Roger Tinney, Holland College Class of 1983, as well as husband Donald Tinney, PWC Class of 1948) to support students entering first year in the UPEI Faculty of Nursing. Audrey Tinney (PWC Class of 1949 and PEI Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1952) was a strong, dedicated nurse, respected by those who worked with her and were treated by her in her 40 plus years as a registered nurse. Her passion for nursing equaled her enthusiasm for life on Prince Edward Island with all it had to offer. She was well loved and is fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
