Background:
Colleen graduated from the Masters of Science program at UPEI in 2009. She served as President of the Graduate Students' Association (GSA) from 2007-2008, and was always respected by fellow students and faculty for the amount of personal time and energy that she put into all of her endeavours. In addition to her position on the GSA, she also volunteered for several community groups during her time as a graduate student in the Department of Biology. Colleen passionately believed in the value of travel. An integral part of the graduate student experience is to pursue research and present findings to the public, not only locally, but at conferences and meetings around the world. To aid graduate students in achieving this experience, this travel award has been established in memory and honour of Colleen.
