This award, created by UPEI alumnus Chris and Nancy (Crawford) Mathis, commemorates two exceptional engineers that died in 2013 - Glen Crawford and Clyde Mathis. Glen, who passed away at 60, lived his life with the motto "people first - results always". His last role was as the Senior VP of Manufacturing for Schwan Food Company after a period as VP Manufacturing for Pillsbury (US). Clyde, who died six weeks short of his 100th birthday, lived his life with the motto of "better to wear out than rust out". He devoted 40 years to Phillips Petroleum Company and earned more than 40 patents for his contributions to the petrochemical industry. It is the intention of the donors that the memory of both men be captured in the recipient of this award. Both men made significant contributions themselves and through others.
