Background:
The World University Service of Canada [WUSC] UPEI supports the undergraduate studies of one new student who has come to Canada through the Student Refugee Program each year. For the first year of their studies, the refugee student is fully supported. Thereafter, they receive partial support from the WUSC UPEI community. In July 2019, the WUSC UPEI Committee determined that funds were available to support a graduating student award, providing a 'leg up' for students who enter UPEI through the WUSC Student Refugee Program and complete a UPEI undergraduate degree.
