Background:
This award is being established by the AVC Class of 2021 to recognize a graduating student that embodies the spirit of their class and shows resilience in the face of adversity. The Class of 2021 is no stranger to adversity, having to adjust very quickly to new ways of teaching and working due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They faced unprecedented challenges ranging from having to suddenly adjust to online learning and rotations to dealing with travel restrictions and two-week quarantine periods. In the words of AVC Dean Dr. Greg Keefe "No group had more challenges than the Class of 2021."
