Hemostasis

Hemostasis is the arrest of hemorrhage. Normal hemostasis involves numerous and complex interactions between platelets, coagulation factors, fibrinolytic factors and blood vessels. The goal of hemostasis is to maintain free flowing blood yet allow small localized plugs to form and resolve at sites of vascular injury.
